What to expect

Initial discussion

Call me for a free initial discussion about your concerns.

Initial Consultation

To find out how best to help your child I will discuss your concerns with you, take a full case history and assess your child. Assessment may be through formal or informal assessment, observation and in some cases questionnaires for you/school.

Therapy

Therapy is carried out through games and a wide range of enjoyable activities, designed to boost your child’s speech and language skills, as well as their confidence.

How often will my child be seen for therapy?

Therapy sessions may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on your child’s needs.

How long does a therapy session last?

Therapy sessions typically last between 45 – 60 minutes.

What else can I do to help my child?

At the end of sessions I can give you advice on what to do to help your child before the next session.

More detailed programmes of activities and advice can be provided for home and school, at your request.

The therapist can liaise with teaching staff, at your request.

Training

Training tailored to your needs can be provided to school staff, or groups of parents (by arrangement).
